October Scavenger Hunt – Ride on Your Own or with Friends

For the entire month of October, Gruene HOG is holding a Scavenger Hunt. There will be 5 hidden containers that carry 1 chance each and 5 bonus spots that carry 2 chances each for the prize drawing to be held at the November Chapter Social.

RULES:

Take a photo of the top of the containers found at the GPS coordinates listed and email it to ride-challenge@gruenehog.com. Be sure to include your first and last name in the email.

Important Note: Due to a typo, if you tried sending photos to the address we had originally listed here in the calendar (ride_challenge@gruenehog.com) prior to 22 October, please re-send them as they wouldn’t have been received with the underscore. As of the 22nd date, either address will now work.

If available, you can take an item from the container as a souvenir.

Place the container back in the same spot where your found it.

For the Bonus Spots listed, send your photo to ride-challenge@gruenehog.com. Be sure to include your first and last name in the email.

If you figure out all the locations, PLEASE do not share the information, let’s keep the surprise available to everyone.

You can ride alone or with friends, there are no restrictions. However, each individual must take a separate picture to send to ride-challenge@gruenehog.com individually. NO group entries will be considered.

Google Maps:  REMOVED FROM HUNT!!! |
H-D Ride Planner: REMOVED FROM HUNT!!!
Comments – We have received a couple comments about the dish at the Center Point location. I also read reviews for Serenity Hills mobile Home Park where the dish is hidden. According to the reviews, the manager is “wacky” and rude. According to the comments I received from individuals hunting for the dish, they made it clear that we are not welcome to be looking there.

In order to avoid any problems, we are eliminating that dish from the hunt as of right now.

If you already found it, you are good. Don’t go back.

If you did not find it but found any of the other 4 dishes, you will be given credit for having found the Center Point dish along with the dishes you did find.

If you have not yet gone on the Hunt, do not hunt for the Center Point dish. Whenever you find any of the other dishes, you will get credit for Center Point as well. YES, this mean that the minimum number of chances for the drawing will be 2 as long as you find at least one of the other dishes.

BONUS LOCATIONS – Locations are listed in alphabetical order

Take a picture of a thing – The President never asked for it to be built with Chrome.

Take a picture of the sign – They say everything is bigger in Texas but this is not true compared to Uluru.

Take a picture of a sign – Get a taste at a garage where they do not service cars or motorcycles. Comment – go about 100 feet past it for a safe place to park

Take a picture of a thing – WWII hero in the land of peaches

Take a picture of a sign – Where we traditionally start our ride to view bluebonnets

If you plan your ride properly, a route can be made to pass by all 10 locations and back to the dealership for a round trip total of about 270 miles. Good Luck!
